DIT Level 2: Room 2-046

Introduced by Nuala Carey

Performance and poetry exploring the role of women in 1916. Directed by Mary Moynihan. Performed by professional artists Evelyn Shaw and Margaret Toomey and actors in training from the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

It reflects on some of the forgotten tales of that fateful week in Irish history in a fresh and poignant manner, and shines a light on areas such as the forgotten women of 1916 and the actions of those at the forefront of the Rising. It brings to life some of the most prominent figures of the day including Máire Nic Shiubhlaigh, Thomas MacDonagh, Helena Molony, Margaret Skinnider, Elizabeth O’Farrell, Grace Gifford and Joseph Mary Plunkett.
