National Library of Ireland

The National Library will host an eclectic offering of exhibitions, readings, genealogy advice, talks and music based around the year that was 1916.

Explore the lives of the 7 signatories of the Proclamation in a Front Hall exhibition, or listen to readings from WB Yeats in the Reading Room, where so many of the figures of the period researched and worked. Find out where your ancestors were in the year of the Rising from expert genealogists, or book into talks on the personal testimonies of 1916,  eyewitness diaries and what it said in the papers that week, and after.

Please Note:

National Library of Ireland’s Genealogy Room is not wheelchair accessible.
