Tom Kearney describes how the men reacted when they heard the news of the surrender while in Moore Street.
I seen men crying, some men refused to surrender.
They were then marched from their outpost in Moore Street to O’Connell Street, opposite the Gresham Hotel. Here they laid down their arms and were brought to the Rotunda and held on the green in front of the building overnight.
