‘After the Crown forces had retreated, both Companies joined forces and went across country to the Farmyard, Athenry’ – Brian Molloy
Liam Mellows commanded a force of over six hundred men in the East Galway. His force attacked numerous police barracks, engaged the Connaught Rangers, and took police officers prisoner as they made their way across the Galway countryside during Easter Week. This talk examines events in Galway and plans for the Rising outside of the capital.
