Liberty Hall is the birthplace of the Irish Citizen Army. It is where the Easter Rising was planned and where the 1916 Proclamation was printed. It is where the leaders of the Rising assembled on Easter Monday and where they and members of the Irish Citizen Army and the Irish Volunteers marched to the GPO and the other centres of rebellion.
An exhibition of Irish Citizen Army and union memorabilia from 1916 including photographs, paintings and other items of historical interest will be on display in Liberty Hall during the Easter commemoration events. A concert with talks and music will take place in the afternoon, featuring Frances Black, Francis Devine, Nell Regan, Rachel Phelan, Mick Halpenny and Joe Duffy.
