On the afternoon of Sunday 30 April, British soldiers appeared in St Patrick’s Park. On seeing them Volunteer Liam O’Dalaigh and his comrades, who were up in the tower in Jacob’s Biscuit Factory opened fire. Thomas MacDonagh immediately sent up word to stop shooting as a truce had been declared.
Liam O’Dalaigh was a member of ‘C’ Company, 2nd Battalion, Dublin Brigade, Irish Volunteers.
