In addition to the extraordinary story of combat operations as undertaken by Irish women in the 1916 Rising, War of Independence and Civil War, this provocative talk will discuss the facts about women’s fullest involvement in Combat internationally and in Ireland. In addition it will highlight findings of research conducted by the international military into the role of women in conventional and non-conventional or asymmetrical combat operations.
